#010 | The Coffee And Coast Dispatch ☕️ 🌊

📝 The Why

Back in summer last year, I hit ‘sent’ on the very first Coffee And Coast Dispatch newsletter, very much unchartered territory for me at the time, but I really quickly started to really enjoy it. The idea was to simply share what we’re building, why we’re building it, and invite people along for the ride. Since then, multiple times per month, a small snapshot of where Coffee And Coast was at that moment had been sent out.

I talked about new coffees, beachside chats with people who had then become customers, Father’s Day gear picks, Black Coffee over Black Friday, sponsorships, marketing, club launches, right through to our Christmas blend. And looking back I’m really proud of that.

📈 The Growth

Behind the scenes, things moved too. Our website visitors grew by 101%, orders grew by 52% and revenue grew by 47%. We roasted, packed and shipped 258 coffee bags, mostly 250g bags, but this year there has been a rising interest in 1kg bags too. We also sold coffee gear, gift cards and also received 1 out of the blue donation (Thank You Paul 😀).

All things considered, and knowing not every month went smoothly, not everything worked, it’s been another year of growing in the right direction.

More people found Coffee And Coast, stuck around, and came back, and that to me matters more than any anything. Coffee And Coast is here for the long run, building foundations takes time, but I love what I do, and seeing those numbers, makes me very happy.

Our most popular coffees in 2025 were Coastal Blend and Island Aroma, with a rise in The Roasters Surprise subscription. Looking at where our customers are based, it’s not just the South anymore, like Dorset (obviously), Devon, Somerset and Cornwall, but we are now also adding to the list Lincolnshire, Yorkshire, Berkshire and Norfolk too, with London also has making its first appearance. Wow! 🤩

📰 The Pinch-Me Moments

This year also came with a couple of moments that genuinely stopped me in my tracks. In May, Coffee And Coast was featured in Delicious Magazine, one of those moments where I double-checked the page just to make sure it’s real.

More recently, we became a proud sponsor of the SUPfm Podcast, which feels like a perfect alignment of adventure, movement, community, with coffee quietly in the background.

Those moments don’t change everything overnight, but they do reinforce that Coffee And Coast is heading in the right direction. Since then I took marketing more serious, because finding likeminded platforms and partners helps a lot with accelerating growing the brand.

🏃‍♂️ The Experiences

One of my favourite things we launched this year was the Miles And Motion Adventure Club. It is a Strava community for runners, explorers and coffee lovers, built around the idea that movement and coffee belong together. Whether that’s a sunrise run, a coastal trail hike, or a weekend challenge with friends. Come and join us, because great adventures start with movement … and usually end with coffee.

For the more local crowd, we created Meet Ups, where you can join us for early Sunday morning community runs and sea dips, followed by freshly brewed coffee afterwards! It’s just about showing up, no pressure whatsoever, sharing the moment of movement, excitement, sunrise and coffee, all in one. Believe me, it’s a beautiful thing!

🙏 The Community

If you ordered from us this year, thank you. If you ordered multiple times this year, thank you. If you just subscribed to our newsletter, thank you. If you came to our beach runs, joined the Strava community, engaged and shared with our content on social media, thank you. If you forwarded a newsletter, suggested a stockist or brewed Coffee And Coast somewhere wild, thank you.

This brand only grows because people believe in it, you. I don’t take that lightly. And for that - you guessed it - … I want to say, thank you!

🔭 The Future

This year is going to bright. Very bright! It’s about doubling down on the really good coffee we offer with more flavours to come, more coffee pod options, possibly also offering hot chocolate (which I have been asked about more recently).

I want to continue growing our Miles And Motion Strava community, as well as in real life experiences like Meet Ups. I am also thinking (kind of planning already) a pop-up event, that involves some trail running, cold plunges, sauna, coffee of course, and even some amazing street food. I’ve already got a place in mind, and what a day to spend together like this. More on this soon.

Beyond the above, we are in talks with coffee machine manufacturers to have their products listed on our site (like Sage and Ninja). We have Cups Of Dreams launching later this month, and are also keen to be more present in (local) retailers, such as cafes, farm shops, delis, or other establishments that match our ethos and energy!

Last but not least, we have made good ground on planting trees and removing plastic bottles from the oceans. Doing out bit for the environment, has always been, and will always be a core of part of Coffee And Coast. It’s important we never forget that.
